Our Story, How Insure-It Forward began

In 2010, my wife and I owned and operated an employee benefits firm specializing in group health insurance. I had been in the insurance business for 19 years and had just hired a new assistant. The Affordable Health Care Act had just passed . I was not sure how it would affect my business and neither was anyone else.

My assistant and her family were very involved with an organization that provides drinking water – the most basic of needs – for those who do not have it around the world. Her husband would Skype from some remote village talking about their latest project.

It blew my mind that so many people, mostly kids, died every day from water-related diseases. I was intrigued but wondered how I could possibly help. I was not a missionary. I have young kids at home.

I … excuse, excuse, excuse, excuse.

Then I came across 1 Peter 4:10, which says, “Each one should use whatever gifts he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” 

I am in insurance, what can I do? Insurance, that’s what I can do.

So we decided to sell our agency and to start a company based on Acts 20:35, which says, “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said:

"It is more blessed to give than to receive." This is how we are different:

We are a local, independent broker, we donate a portion of what we receive to charities we endorse, and we HELP guide people to the right plan for them.
