I came to Oklahoma with my 7 year old son in 1995. We had been in Los Angeles and I knew it was
not a place I wanted to raise a child.
In 1997 I met the man of my dreams and we were married in 1998.
The three of us have lived in Stillwater ever
since. “Go Pokes.”
I’ve had several careers but some of the most rewarding are the
care giver positions I’ve had working with the elderly and special needs
I believe people are truly
happiest when they are serving and making a difference in the lives of
others. I still work with individuals
and volunteer with Oklahoma Hospice.
When looking for a home church in Stillwater, I found the Salvation Army through one of my son’s friend’s mom. We had been driving 2 hours each way to our family church in Holdenville and one day after a sleepover I had to pick my son up at 7 so we could get to church. She invited me to her church The Salvation Army.
