Blue Cross OK and Integris Health making progress

The last couple of weeks you could not listen to the local news with out hearing something about Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Integris Health contract negotiations.  Intergris would do a press release about Blue Cross and then Blue Cross would counter.  Well today we received the first positive news.  Blue Cross is reporting significant progress in the contract negotiations.

This battle is not over but it is the first positive report that I have heard.

"Important Information Regarding INTEGRIS Health Facilities and Physicians Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) and INTEGRIS Health (INTEGRIS) officials met Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, and have made significant progress in negotiating a contract that is mutually beneficial while protecting our members. BCBSOK President Ted Haynes said, “We remain cautiously optimistic and hopeful that a fair and balanced resolution can be reached with INTEGRIS. We value our relationship with INTEGRIS and understand that it is in our members’ best interest that an agreement can be quickly reached.”

As a member-owned health insurance company, our members’ best interests always have been, and will continue to be, our main priority. We remain committed to protecting our members and doing everything in our power to stand with them in sickness and health, ensuring access to quality, cost-effective health care throughout the state. We hope to have an update for you soon."
