EMP OF TULSA COUNTY LEAVES BCBSOK NETWORKS

If you live in the Tulsa, OK area you should know that the Emergency Medical Physicians of Tulsa County known as EMP has terminated its contract with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) for the Saint Francis Tulsa and Vinita hospitals.  EMP is the group of doctors that staff the emergency departments of these locations.                                                                                                                                                    

      Members will still have coverage for the emergency care but may now pay a lot more out-of-pocket for its physician services.  These services will be paid at the in-network benefit level however the members will be responsible for any amount over that level.  For services on or after Feb. 1, 2018 payments will be made directly to the member and it will be their responsibility to pay the hospital for their care. 

       Also, please keep in mind the Saint Francis Health system is still in the network.  This only impacts the ER doctors at the Tulsa and Vinita locations.
